Eric Barone has worked on Stardew Valley for about 13 years and is currently building a new game, Haunted Chocolatier. He previously indicated that update 1.6 would be the last Stardew Valley update until Haunted Chocolatier launches. At the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert, he announced that another update is coming. The announcement elicited an enthusiastic crowd response. Barone did not provide details or a release window for the new update. Barone's prior updates have added substantial amounts of content. He appears to imply the update might arrive before Haunted Chocolatier.
Just months after saying he was finished updating the game until the release of his new project, Stardew Valley's maker says he's working on another one. Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has now been working on his massively successful indie game Stardew Valley for about 13 years. He's also building a new game titled the Haunted Chocolatier and stated a few months ago that update 1.6 -which added a lot of content - would be the last one for Stardew Valley until Haunted Chocolatier launches.
However, at the recent Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert, Barone took the stage and made an announcement: "After the [last] update, I was thinking 'I dunno if I'm gonna make another update', but, I wanted to share something with you tonight, it's kind of a secret... there's gonna be another update." The crowd was more than pleased to hear the news. After all, Barone's updates tend to be substantial, adding heaps of new content to enjoy.
