The fastest run time in Mario Kart 8's Rainbow Road is held by streamer Technical. After nearly a hundred hours of practice, Technical achieved an unexpected record time. Rainbow Road in Mario Kart World is the longest and most complex iteration, with laps taking over a minute each. Players expected sub-4-minute finishes to be possible but difficult. A critical trick near the race's end proves especially challenging, and many runners have attempted to break records, leading to 34 new records being set in a month among competitors.
"It's a very precise trick and I had lost many world record pace runs to that final trick," Technical tells Polygon.
"Compared to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe record - which is under two minutes - Mario Kart World is much more demanding."
