Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War Is Getting Remastered, Announced At Warhammer Skulls 2025
Briefly

The remastered version of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War, titled the Definitive Edition, features better lighting, textures, and widescreen support, unifying the base game and expansions. Although improvements are modest, developer Relic Entertainment emphasizes enhanced mod support, allowing existing mods to work seamlessly. Design director Phillippe Boullee stated the importance of mods and assured players of materials to smooth the transition. Despite a personal disappointment regarding the remaster's depth, the focus on a stable modding experience is appreciated, especially after significant staff changes at Relic.
One of our very first goals: to make sure mods for the original game still worked with the Definitive Edition. We'll have materials to walk people through that.
We're testing with the major mods, interfacing with mod makers, and we really want, on day one, for you to load all these different mods onto your machine.
