Warhorse Studios has confirmed it is working on a Lord of the Rings game. The studio announced it is building “An open world Middle-earth RPG” without providing details on setting, timeline, or other specifics. The project represents a major shift from historically grounded games toward a franchise with established Tolkien lore, including magic and other fantastical elements. The studio’s approach to difficulty is uncertain, since its previous titles are known for challenging combat and mechanics.
