Why Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Free-Roam Campaign Was Changed
Briefly

The remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to release on July 15, will feature revamped maps, new skate parks, and a blend of new and returning skaters. Developer Iron Galaxy plans to modify THPS 4's campaign format to align with THPS 3 for better integration. While maintaining a focus on a timer-based gameplay style, the remake will still offer free-roaming options. Despite some controversy, Iron Galaxy aims for a unified experience reminiscent of the earlier remakes that garnered acclaim.
Our goal here is to make the ultimate package of 3 and 4. So ultimately, we felt that taking it into feeling more towards the 3 format, as opposed to what 4 did originally, was a better representation for a cohesive package that we were making.
The THPS 4 remake does away with the original campaign format of completing challenges at the player's choosing, but it will have Free Skate, Speed Run, and Single Session modes.
