It was more just ask about how I'm feeling and stuff like that. For me, it was just my first opportunity to congratulate him on being the best goal scorer, and just sharing that, and getting his jersey."

Brady Tkachuk swapped jerseys with Alex Ovechkin after the Capitals' 7-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on October 25. Tkachuk traveled to Washington despite undergoing right-thumb surgery on October 17 and is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Tkachuk held his stick only in his left hand during a Senators morning skate in D.C. He described the jersey swap as a private, camera-free moment and called it a highlight and an honor. Tkachuk said he wanted to personally congratulate Ovechkin for being the best goal scorer and felt the exchange was special and meaningful.
