The Washington Capitals held a Hockey Fights Cancer skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex after practice. Players paired with young cancer patients and survivors from Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Blood Cancer United Mid-Atlantic, MedStar Health, and Sunrise Day Camp Greater Washington. Players greeted children in the locker room and helped them gear up before taking the ice. Tom Wilson bonded with Sophia over shared mischief stories. Alex Ovechkin reunited with Sunny, whose sparkly cowboy boots drew attention from players. Activities included skating lessons, assisted chair rides, playful pranks like a "Kick me" sign, and lighthearted exchanges between players and families.
