Ilya Protas, a 19-year-old center, practiced with the Washington Capitals after being recalled from the AHL's Hershey Bears. He may make his NHL debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Protas received his first line assignment, playing between his brother Aliaksei Protas and Tom Wilson. He also participated in power-play drills. Protas has previously played alongside his brother in preseason games. If he debuts, he will be the third Capitals player to do so this season, following Bogdan Trineyev and Cole Hutson.
