The 2022 first-round pick has appeared in only four games for the Capitals this season, significantly fewer than previous years. Head coach Spencer Carbery indicated the team wants to get Miroshnichenko into games consistently but must balance other roster priorities. The 22-year-old Russian forward signed a two-year contract extension with Washington in October. As a waivers-exempt prospect, Miroshnichenko can travel between Hershey and DC for the remainder of the season. He remains eligible to play for the Bears in the Calder Cup Playoffs and has contributed 17 points in 28 career AHL playoff games.
