Alex Chiasson retired from playing hockey in January 2023, transitioning to coaching. He participated as a guest coach at the Capitals' development camp, celebrating his time as a Stanley Cup champion in 2018. Chiasson expressed gratitude for his experiences with the Capitals organization and aimed to learn from coaching staff. Completing his degree 15 years after starting at Boston University, Chiasson discovered a passion for teaching at his child's school and seeks to stay involved in hockey by mentoring young players at the camp.
"It's special, obviously, just from my time here as a player, from all that we went through that year, obviously winning at the end of the year. I haven't been back since."
"This place means a lot to me. Learned a lot here, made some great friendships, and, you know, what a great organization. So, this week has been great, trying to be a sponge and learn as much as I can."
