Commanders fans should keep their eyes on one unexpected name at OTAs

The Washington Commanders are beginning organized team activities with a focus on setting the right tone after a 2025 season collapse. Jaylin Lane, a fourth-round rookie wide receiver, showed punt-return ability but had concentration issues that limited offensive opportunities. As a second-year pro, Lane must prove himself again amid increased competition from free-agent signings Van Jefferson Jr. and Dyami Brown, plus a 2026 draft pick, Antonio Williams. New offensive coordinator David Blough’s concepts emphasize quick releases and yards after the catch, which align with Lane’s elusiveness. Lane’s roster spot appears secure, but earning targets will require consistent standout play.
