Seaver King's confidence dropped. Now he's focused on 'little steps' forward.
Briefly

Seaver King, the 10th overall pick in the 2024 draft by the Washington Nationals, struggled at the start of his professional baseball career, hitting only 3 for 38 in high Class A Wilmington. Doubts about his abilities plagued him, but determination and subsequent success led to his promotion to Class AA Harrisburg. Currently at .214 with a .574 OPS, King reflects on the internal battle of confidence and the necessary mindset for success in baseball as he continues to adapt and grow in his first full season.
When he arrived in spring training, something just felt off. Turns out, his self-diagnosis was correct when he opened the season 3 for 38 in high Class A Wilmington.
It's just an internal battle. At the beginning of the year, I didn't really have any confidence out of spring training. I was just in my head a lot.
The battle with yourself is ultimately what this game is about. I gained that confidence after a couple weeks ... just going up there, believing in yourself.
He was a risk - he played only one season at Wake Forest after two seasons at Division II Wingate.
