Wizards new-look offense could make them one of the biggest sleepers in the East
"The Washington Wizards offseason has been filled with plenty of moves that have not only put Brian Keefe's squad in position to have an aggressive offseason next year, but to potentially be a sleeper in the Eastern Conference this season. Between the offseason additions of CJ McCollum, Cam Whitmore, Tre Johnson and even Will Riley, the upside on the Wizards offense is potentially being overlooked."
"The talent on the roster is there and if Brian Keefe is able to assemble a rotation that allows players strengths to build off one another, the Wizards could be a sleeper to monitor in the East. Obviously, when I say sleeper I don't mean that the Wizards will be in contention to represent the East in the NBA Finals this season...although stranger things have happened."
The Wizards added CJ McCollum, Cam Whitmore, Tre Johnson, and Will Riley, increasing offensive upside. Roster talent and potential individual leaps could transform Washington from a dull team into an exciting squad. Effective rotation assembly by Brian Keefe could allow player strengths to complement one another and elevate overall performance. Internal belief exists, including confidence from newcomer Cam Whitmore, that the revamped offense can produce meaningful results in 2025-26. Expectations stop short of legitimate Finals contention, but the roster improvements place the team in position to contend for a play-in spot in a wide-open Eastern Conference.
