In a video posted on , Gellar broke the news to Armstrong through a Zoom meeting, where Gellar asked her how she felt about helping Gellar "save the world" as the new lead slayer on the show.
Armstrong broke down in tears, gleefully accepting the offer- that went a lot better than when Buffy was asked to become the slayer.
Controversial series creator Joss Whedon is rightfully not a part of the new Buffy, but some OGs have returned for more.
