This new series will feature a different creative team, including writers Nora and Lila Zuckerman, while Gellar, along with several original producers, will remain involved. Notably absent is Joss Whedon, the original creator, as the reboot seeks to establish its own identity.
Good thing the next slayer has a strong arm... On Wednesday afternoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar announced that the reboot has found its newest teenage vampire killer: Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's star Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
In a video posted on , Gellar broke the news to Armstrong through a Zoom meeting, where Gellar asked her how she felt about helping Gellar "save the world" as the new lead slayer on the show.
Armstrong broke down in tears, gleefully accepting the offer- that went a lot better than when Buffy was asked to become the slayer.
Controversial series creator Joss Whedon is rightfully not a part of the new Buffy, but some OGs have returned for more.
