Hayes: Returning Wilson 'ready for USWNT-Japan triple-header
"I'm trying to approach it with -- I always have, but I think more than ever -- a goldfish mentality and it's just [to] be present in whatever practice or whatever game I'm in, and it's on to the next."
"I think for Tierna, I've spoken with her: She's a little bit further behind, but she does need to get her minutes up at this point."
Sophia Wilson is close to being fully fit and may participate in all three upcoming matches against Japan. She has returned to training after maternity leave and has played five games for the Portland Thorns this season. Head coach Emma Hayes noted Wilson's impressive return, stating she appears unaffected by her time away. Defender Tierna Davidson is also back in training after an ACL injury but is not as far along in her recovery as Wilson. Davidson is expected to play limited minutes off the bench.
