Jen Pawol made history by becoming the first woman to umpire a Major League Baseball regular season game. The West Milford community celebrated her achievement with a watch party at her alma mater, where former classmates and students expressed pride and inspiration from her journey. Alumni shared fond memories of her as a dedicated athlete, with one describing her as both aggressive on the field and a sweetheart off it. Pawol's success is encouraging future generations of young women to pursue their dreams.
"She achieved her dreams, so I want my girls to achieve their dreams and just go for it," former classmate Colleen Brock said.
"That could be us one day," high school senior Brenna Traverso said about Pawol's achievement in becoming an MLB umpire.
