Scientists Study Who Actually Likes Lip Filler
Briefly

A new study from the University of Sydney highlights gender differences in lip size preferences, revealing that men prefer thinner lips on women, contradicting women's preference for plump lips among their peers. Conducted on 32 psychology students using digitally manipulated images, the investigation showed a preference divide reflective of wider societal standards. Though cosmetic procedures are more accepted, contradictions in men's standards reveal underlying misogynistic attitudes. While intriguing, the study's limited sample and methodology raise questions about broader applicability.
Using what the school calls 'digitally manipulated proxy images for a human face,' the researchers spoke to 32 students... about lip size and perceived attractiveness.
Interestingly, men tended to prefer images of women with thinner or unaltered lips - but women preferred plumper lips in women and thinner lips in men.
Though these results are certainly intriguing, it's not entirely surprising that the men in the 32-student group didn't tend to go for big lips.
The study's findings highlight the stark contrasts in male and female preferences regarding lip size, revealing a complex mix of societal standards and personal aesthetics.
