Brittney Sykes scored a career-high 38 points and went 15-for-15 from the foul line as the visiting Toronto Tempo defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 106-96. Rookie Kiki Rice added 19 points in her first start. Toronto won its first road game in franchise history, improving to 2-2, with Marina Mabrey scoring 14 and Kia Nurse adding 10. The Tempo made 39 of 42 free throws. Los Angeles was led by Kelsey Plum with 28 points, while Dearica Hamba scored 21, Nneka Ogwumike had 17, and Kate Martin finished with 11. Toronto built separation after an early tie and led by double digits for much of the game.
