Marie-Louise Eta has been appointed interim head coach of Union Berlin, making her the first woman to manage a men's team in one of Europe's top five leagues. Her appointment follows the dismissal of Steffen Baumgart after a poor performance. Union Berlin currently sits 11th in the Bundesliga, with only two wins in 14 matches this year. Eta has previously broken barriers as the first female assistant coach in the Bundesliga and will transition to the women's head coach role in the summer.
