JuJu Watkins suffered a right ACL tear in the second round of the NCAA tournament and will sit out the 2025-26 season to continue recovering. She posted on Instagram expressing gratitude for support and saying she will follow doctors' and trainers' advice to focus fully on recovery. Watkins averaged 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a sophomore, won multiple player of the year awards and was a two-time first-team All-American. At 20 years old and standing 6-foot-2, she is widely considered a top WNBA prospect. USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb expressed full support and praised her leadership and maturity.
