Weinstein accuser rips defense lawyer: 'You should be ashamed of yourself'
Briefly

Kaja Sokola, a key witness in Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault retrial, vocally defended her allegations against him, stating they have significantly impacted her life. In her testimony, she faced intense scrutiny from Weinstein's defense, who accused her of lying for financial gain following a civil settlement. Sokola detailed how Weinstein's behavior started when she was 16, asserting unwanted advances masked as professional support. Despite inconsistencies in her past writings about other assaults, she steadfastly defended her claim against Weinstein, asserting her truthfulness as a victim of his abuse.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Kaja Sokola retorted. In her fifth and final day of testimony at Weinstein's sex crimes retrial, she maintained that she was telling the truth and that Weinstein's alleged conduct in her teens had changed the course of her life.
No. That's very unfair. That's not true. Sokola said softly, defending herself against the defense lawyer’s suggestion that her allegations were motivated by financial gain.
During her days on the witness stand, she said Weinstein repeatedly offered to foster her acting ambitions but then made unwanted physical advances, beginning when she was 16 in 2002.
Weinstein's lawyers grilled Sokola about her requests for career help from him after the alleged assault, her motives for her civil lawsuits and criminal trial testimony.
