Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, and Gail King are among the celebrities gearing up for a historic all-female space tourism flight with Blue Origin's New Shepard 31. Scheduled for launch from Texas, this mission aims to reach an altitude of 62 miles, just above the Karman Line, and will last approximately 11 minutes. This flight is especially significant as it marks the first all-female mission since 1963. The crew planned to maintain their glamorous appearance during the journey, emphasizing the integration of elegance into space exploration, with Perry humorously claiming they would put the 'ass' in astronaut.
"Space is going to finally be glam," Perry previously told Elle. "If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the 'ass' in astronaut."
The voyage, which is expected to fly just above the boundary of space and last around 11 minutes, will mark the first all-female space trip since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova's solo flight in 1963.
