Recent research indicates that increasing the number of women on corporate boards not only diversifies leadership but also contributes to safer job sites. Analyzing data from 266 companies from 2002 to 2011, the study found that boards with higher female representation recorded fewer workplace safety incidents, especially when women held powerful positions. This finding highlights the importance of female leadership in operational processes and safety enhancements, suggesting that a diverse board leads to improved workplace conditions and mitigates financial losses associated with safety incidents.
Companies with more women on their boards tend to have fewer workplace safety incidents-especially when these women hold positions of power within the board.
When women have these positions of power, they are not only able to express their perspectives more freely, but others also pay more attention to their ideas.
