'We will make the best out of it' - Demi Vollering targets third Itzulia Women victory despite 'easier' final day
Briefly

Demi Vollering, the reigning champion of Itzulia Women, approaches the 2025 edition with cautious optimism despite having dominated previous races. While she fresh off her victory at the Vuelta Femenina, Vollering acknowledges this year's route is less challenging than before, prompting her team to adjust their racing strategy. The race consists of three stages, beginning with a 148.5 km route featuring climbs but a flat finish. Vollering emphasizes the importance of the final stage for overall contention, indicating that despite a seemingly easier course, sharp focus will be needed to maintain her lead.
"But this year the Itzulia is a bit less hard than the previous years so we need to see how the racing is going and I hope the peloton is excited to race and they want to race aggressively."
"I think the last stage is the hardest so I think that is where the GC will be made but of course you need to be there the first two days as well, so you need to keep your eyes open for the first two days."
