Following the earthquake, Chilean authorities initiated evacuation orders for coastal regions in the Magallanes area due to a tsunami warning, predicting waves of 1-3 meters. President Gabriel Boric urged citizens to prepare and comply with official directives. Fortunately, no immediate injuries or damages were reported, even in Ushuaia, Argentina, though some aftershocks were felt.
"We are calling for the evacuation of the coastline throughout the Magallanes region," President Gabriel Boric wrote on social media.
"Right now, our duty is to be prepared and heed the authorities," Boric emphasized, highlighting the importance of following emergency protocols.
