AlUla is a historically rich oasis town and archaeological landscape with a 900-year-old adobe settlement and Hegra tombs dating back over 2,100 years. The Royal Commission for AlUla concentrates efforts on cultural preservation, ecological restoration, and fostering new artistic endeavors. Projects emphasize international collaboration, knowledge transfer, and global accessibility to regenerate the area. Initiatives include artisanal workshops in the old city and an international AlUla Artist Residency program that supports experimental work and cross-disciplinary participation from cultural platforms, independent talents, and scientists to build a new model for civic and cultural development.
