Egypt stresses that operation of the Rafah crossing in both directions is vital to increase accessibility of humanitarian and medical aid and to allow medical evacuations. Egypt expresses readiness to alleviate the humanitarian burden on Gaza residents and to provide medical intervention for urgent cases. Egypt is coordinating with Israel and the United States to address safe passage for fighters allegedly in tunnels and to work toward the decommissioning of Hamas. Egypt is organizing a Gaza reconstruction conference to support rebuilding, with timing under discussion.
