"I am away on a family holiday and awoke to the news of this incident."
Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State while on holiday in Africa following his knockout win over Jake Paul. The Lexus SUV conveying Joshua crashed at about 11am; Joshua, seated in the rear, sustained minor injuries and is receiving medical attention, while another person was injured. Two other passengers in the vehicle died at the scene. Preliminary Federal Road Safety Corps findings suggested the Lexus was suspected to be travelling beyond the legally prescribed speed limit and lost control during an overtaking manoeuvre, colliding with a stationary truck. Joshua had recently returned from a 15-month layoff and his promoter is attempting to ascertain the extent of his injuries.
