Fraudster George Santos claims he's going to Venezuela 'to help with aid'
"Many people need help and for far too long it was impossible to bring them any relief,"
"I look forward to being part of the solution and ending the problems of a people oppressed for far too long. Viva la libertad! Viva Venezuela!"
"I'm sick and tired of hearing 'it's illegal, it's an international crime,'"
George Santos, a gay former Republican congressman from New York and a convicted felon, announced plans to travel to Caracas to help deliver aid to Venezuelans. The announcement followed a U.S. military assault on Caracas called Operation Absolute Resolve that included airstrikes and a helicopter extraction resulting in Nicolás Maduro and his wife being taken to New York to face narco-terrorism and drug-trafficking charges. Maduro pleaded not guilty and maintains he remains Venezuela's legitimate president. The operation generated international backlash from countries including China and Russia and prompted Venezuela's Supreme Court to appoint Delcy Rodríguez as interim president.
