"The 29-year-old Lin had agreed to undergo the testing, her coach Tseng Tzu-chiang said at the time. She has not considered withdrawing from the competition because of the new gender tests. We will submit all the relevant documents requested by the organisers, as part of normal procedures, Tseng said. Taiwan's boxing association said it submitted the results to World Boxing and had not received a response, the semi-official Central News Agency reported late Monday."
"We cannot allow the athlete to travel to the UK without any guarantee, the association was quoted as saying. The association told the news agency AFP in a message on Tuesday that Lin will not attend the world championships in Liverpool, but did not give a reason or respond to AFP's other questions. Lin's coach Tseng did not respond to phone calls or messages."
Taiwan's Olympic boxing gold medallist Lin Yu-ting will not compete at the world championships in Liverpool after her national association said it had submitted gender test results to World Boxing but received no response. Algeria's Imane Khelif is also set to miss the championships amid the same dispute. World Boxing requires mandatory gender testing, including a PCR genetic test, for women over 18 competing at sanctioned events. Lin's coach said she agreed to testing and that all relevant documents would be submitted; Taiwan's association said it could not allow travel without guarantees.
