Iranian Nobel winner Mohammadi moved to Tehran hospital
"Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been transferred to a hospital in Iran's capital Tehran for medical treatment, a foundation run by her family said Sunday. Mohammadi has been granted a temporary suspension of her sentence in exchange for the payment of a substantial bail, the foundation said in a statement. She has now been transferred by ambulance to Pars hospital in Tehran "to be treated by her own medical team." The foundation gave no details of the bail arrangements or suspension of her sentence."
"Ten days ago, Mohammadi was hospitalized in the northwestern city of Zanjan, where she was imprisoned, after collapsing in her prison cell. Mohammadi's husband, Taghi Rahmani, who lives in Paris, also confirmed on social media that she had been transferred to Tehran. Mohammadi's brother Hamidreza Mohammadi, who is based in Oslo, Norway, said medical examiners had previously recommended her transfer to Tehran but the decision was blocked. He blamed Iran's intelligence agency."
"Mohammadi had two suspected heart attacks, one on March and another on May 1, in prison in Zanjan. The 54-year-old human rights campaigner was rushed to hospital for treatment but remained under constant guard. Her husband said in a social media post on Saturday that her condition was critical. His wife had suffered a severe drop in blood pressure and was struggling to speak, Rahmani said."
"Her Paris-based lawyer Chirinne Ardakani posted a picture of Mohammadi in a hospital bed, adding that she had lost 20 kilograms (44 pounds) in prison but was currently "in the hands of her medical team." Mohammadi had a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in her lung) from before her latest imprisonment in De"
