This means that, even under Israel's documentation, the vast majority of detainees are civilians."

Numerous children have been imprisoned under this law, and have been barred from legal counsel and from seeing their families. This practice has often amounted to institutionalized "enforced disappearance," Amnesty International has said."

Numerous children have been detained under that law and have been barred from legal counsel and family visits. Amnesty International describes the practice as institutionalized enforced disappearance. Reported prison conditions include torture and denial of food and medical care, sometimes leading to death. UN experts state the law targets Palestinian children.
