Killing of Larijani will not destabilise Iranian political system: Minister
"I do not know why the Americans and the Israelis still have not understood this point: The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure with established political, economic, and social institutions. The presence or absence of a single individual does not affect this structure."
"We have not had anyone more important than the leader himself, and even the leader was martyred, yet the system continued its work and immediately provided a replacement. If anyone else is martyred, it will be the same."
"Of course, individuals are influential, and each person plays their role—some better, some worse, some less—but what matters is that the political system in Iran is a very solid structure."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that US-Israeli assassinations, including the killing of Ali Larijani, will not destabilize Iran's government. Araghchi emphasized that Iran's political structure is built on established institutions rather than dependent on single individuals. He noted that even the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei did not disrupt the system's functioning, as replacements were immediately provided. While acknowledging that individuals play influential roles, Araghchi stressed that the Islamic Republic's solid institutional framework ensures continuity regardless of who occupies specific positions. This resilience demonstrates that targeted killings cannot achieve the strategic objective of toppling Iran's leadership.
