The expert described recent diplomatic activity as a tactical pause and said Western support without NATO deployment or lifting restrictions on Kyiv striking deep into Russia signals weakness. The expert warned that Ukraine continues to lose territory while awaiting help that will never arrive and that Russia retains time and room for manoeuvre to end the war on its terms. Russian media portrayed Washington-brokered meetings as unacceptable and as a political provocation against Moscow.
The summit in Alaska and the meeting in Washington are a tactical pause. When the West talks about 'supporting Ukraine' without deploying NATO troops or lifting restrictions on Kyiv striking deep into Russia, this is a sign of weakness. This means that Moscow still has time and room for manoeuvre.
Russia still holds the initiative and Ukraine continues to lose territory, while waiting for help that will never come. Russia still has every chance to end this war on its terms.
Moskovsky Komsomolets reported "much of what was discussed" in Washington is "unacceptable" to Russia which is nothing more than a "powerful political bomb" planted in the Kremlin.
