"Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called on the United States to ensure that deposed Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro receives a fair trial. "Now that President Maduro is in detention, what we request is a fair trial," Sheinbaum told reporters in Mexico City. Sheinbaum has sought to navigate regional geopolitical tensions diplomatically, maintaining a strong relationship with President Donald Trump while opposing US intervention in Latin America. Trump has previously floated the idea of military intervention in Colombia and Mexico."
