Israel Intensifies Attacks on Lebanon and Orders Mass Displacement in the South

Simultaneously, Israel has escalated operations in Lebanon, ordering the entire southern population to evacuate under threat of death, prompting mass displacement and humanitarian crisis conditions. Israeli officials, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, have made inflammatory statements threatening to transform Lebanese areas into conditions similar to Gaza. Human rights advocates document extensive evidence of war crimes, including strikes on schools and hospitals. The displacement has created severe humanitarian conditions with shelters overwhelmed and civilians sleeping outdoors. International accountability mechanisms are being called upon to address alleged violations by both U.S. and Israeli forces.
