Pahalgam attack: Pakistan fired across LoC Indian army DW 04/25/2025

In response to escalating tensions following a deadly attack in Kashmir that left 26 civilians dead, the United Nations has called for maximum restraint from both India and Pakistan. Indian Prime Minister Modi has vowed to pursue militants responsible for the attack at Pahalgam while Pakistan denied accusations of supporting these militants. During a press briefing, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric emphasized the importance of resolving bilateral issues peacefully and urged both governments to avoid further deterioration of the situation.
We very much appeal to both the governments... to exercise maximum restraint, and to ensure that the situation and the developments we've seen do not deteriorate any further.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to hunt down the militants who killed 26 civilians at the popular tourist site of Pahalgam.
Pakistan has denied accusations from New Delhi that it is supporting the militants and that two of the three gunmen were Pakistani.
Any issues between Pakistan and India, we believe, can be and should be resolved peacefully through meaningful mutual engagement.
