Børge Brende, who led the World Economic Forum for over eight years, announced his resignation following an independent review into his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The WEF co-chairs stated the investigation found no additional concerns beyond what was previously disclosed. Emails released by the Department of Justice showed Brende had dinner with Epstein three times in 2018 and 2019. Brende stated he was completely unaware of Epstein's past and criminal activities. Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president and CEO during this transition.
