"Araghchi met Oman's foreign minister Badr Albusaidi after arriving in Geneva last night. The ministers reviewed the views and proposals that the Iranian side will present to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear programme, based on the guiding principles agreed upon in the previous round of negotiations, a report from the state-run Oman News Agency said."
"It is understood that US special envoy Steve Witkoff, who is heading to Geneva for the talks along with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, has asked only that Iran agree to enrichment at below 5% purity."
The third round of US-Iran nuclear negotiations commenced in Geneva with Oman serving as mediator between Iranian and US representatives. Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Geneva and met with Oman's foreign minister Badr Albusaidi to review Iran's proposals for reaching an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. These proposals build upon guiding principles established in previous negotiation rounds. Oman's foreign minister will present Iran's offer to US officials. Meanwhile, multiple countries including the US, Germany, Australia, and others have withdrawn diplomatic staff and non-essential personnel from Middle East locations or issued travel warnings to Iran due to escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
