A 1970s Kitchen Looks 2x as Bright After a Minimalist Makeover
""The whole space feels larger.""
""Placed next to the kitchen door, it made the room too narrow," Ana says."
""It looks much more spacious now.""
""The result? A kitchen that looks twice as big and twice as bright.""
The kitchen underwent a transformation with new cabinets, new appliances, open shelving, and added bar seating. A bulky pantry located adjacent to the kitchen door was removed to widen the room and improve circulation. The eat-in breakfast area was repainted from navy blue to white to create a seamless, cohesive look that enhances brightness. Combined changes increased perceived space and light, making surfaces and sightlines feel more expansive. The kitchen now appears approximately twice as big and twice as bright, with improved flow, visual continuity, and more inviting, functional dining and prep areas.
