Before & After: A "Bare Box" Becomes a Mid-Century Modern Dining Room for Under $500!
""My dream homes are mid-century modern, with wood walls and ceilings," she says, and her goal was "to create that same look in [her] rental apartment.""
""The dining room felt like the perfect place to experiment, play with design, and really have fun creatively, so I leaned fully into that opportunity," Juliene says."
""The faux wood wall is my fave," Juliene says! "The room now feels like a warm hug when I walk in. The space overall feels elevated, and I love that.""
Juliene Winborne, a DIY renter, aimed to recreate mid-century modern style in her rental dining room on a budget under $500. The original room had white walls and felt small and bland. A faux wood statement wall made from $20 peel-and-stick rolls transformed the space into a warm, elevated room. Juliene's mother, aunt, and boyfriend helped with installation, and additional rolls were ordered when supplies ran out. The faux wood wall became the focal point, providing a 'wow' moment and changing the room's atmosphere into a cozy, mid-century-inspired dining area.
