"Above: With his series of Megève homes, Le Même created the archetypal Alpine chalet that's inspired mountain houses all over the globe. And for good reason: It's totally timeless. To celebrate the structure's architectural significance, Iconic House and Claves opted to keep as much as possible. "The exterior façades were completely restored, with the original color scheme and historic balustrades reinstated," says Robin."
In 1925 Baroness Noémie de Rothschild commissioned architect Henry Jacques Le Même to build a chalet in Megève, initiating nearly 250 designs that shaped the village into a high-end ski resort. Iconic House added one of Le Même’s original Art Deco lodges, Le Sarto, to its luxury rental roster. Paris-based studio Claves updated the seven-bedroom home while honoring Le Même's geometric lines, carved woodwork, and Alpine proportions. The renovation reinstated exterior façades, original color schemes, and historic balustrades, and layered contemporary art and revived original furniture to balance preservation with modern comfort and conviviality.
