The project aims to convert a 450 m² residence in São Paulo into five autonomous units, each covering 60-100 m². The design maintains a home-like feel, incorporating outdoor areas to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor living. It creates a residential village with shared gardens and circulation spaces without expanding the original building's footprint. The renovation preserves the original aesthetic through careful material choices, ensuring visual and functional continuity. New infrastructure is centralized in a discreet back block, underscoring a balance between modern demands and historic preservation.
"This project preserves the original aesthetics while facilitating a transformation into five autonomous units, a response to urban demands for density without new construction."
"By concentrating the infrastructure support in a newly constructed block, the physical characteristics of the existing building are preserved, demonstrating a commitment to architectural integrity."
