The funding secured for the regeneration of Crystal Palace Park comes from the sale of adjacent land for affordable housing. Bromley Council has allocated nearly £22 million specifically for the restoration of its Grade-I listed dinosaur sculptures, built by artist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins, and the construction of new facilities such as a dinosaur-themed playground and visitor centre. Clarion Housing Group, which purchased the land, plans to develop around 120 homes, while ensuring both community development and heritage conservation are prioritized in this revitalization effort.
The funding from the sale of land adjacent to Crystal Palace Park will facilitate the restoration of its historic dinosaur sculptures and improve community amenities.
As part of a wider regeneration effort, this initiative not only enhances park facilities but also contributes to the development of affordable housing in the area.
