Hopes for tribute for basketballer crash victim
Briefly

A renovation project for Argyle Square court in north London is being planned to honor Anthony 'TJ' Hibbert, an exceptional basketball player who died in a car crash. The Argyle Kings, a group of players, aim to enhance the court, acknowledging it as the 'mecca of grassroots basketball.' Supported by Basketball England and Camden Council, they hope to create a lasting tribute. Hibbert played at Argyle Square as a child and was integral to the community. His memory and impact on the local basketball scene continue to resonate with those who knew him.
Mr Hibbert, from Camden, played at Argyle Square as a youngster and went on to play with Essex Rebels. The 24-year-old student died in a car crash in Colchester on 1 February, alongside three of his University of Essex friends.
We are all still devastated he has gone, and we miss him so much. We share videos of him every day. He was a bundle of joy.
I can't think of a better place to remember him than here at the Argyle court. This place used to be the mecca of grassroots basketball in London.
Camden Council said it was 'keen to work with the Argyle Kings to build something special for Camden's basketball community.'
