I Added a Bonus Hangout Spot to My Yard Using Leftover Landscaping Materials
Briefly

Creating a paver patio can be a rewarding DIY project, especially when reusing leftover materials. The process includes washing, priming, and staining old pavers to match existing decor. Proper groundwork is essential; removing old sod, installing drainage, and ensuring a level surface require careful planning and effort. Using tools like a sod remover can significantly ease the workload. Once the foundation is ready, the installation of pavers creates a functional and aesthetic backyard feature perfect for gatherings.
To create a level surface for a new paver patio, we removed old sod from the yard, which was the hardest part of the project.
I power washed over a hundred pavers, primed and stained them twice to match my backyard color scheme.
Using leftover materials is a great way to save on projects; I saved old pavers and creatively reused them for a new patio.
Mapping out the patio space was essential; I used string, stakes, and a shovel to outline a 12-by-14-foot area for the project.
