The road closures and traffic changes coming to Bexley this July

Infrastructure upgrades will lead to significant road disruptions. Major works include water main installation in Belvedere, gas pipe replacement in Sidcup, and improvements around Ruxley Roundabout. By July 7, the speed limit on Bronze Age Way will decrease to 30mph. Gwillim Close will fully close for gas mains installation starting July 7, expected to take four weeks. Ruxley Roundabout will close for four days starting July 9 for improvements, and Bursdon Close will see off-peak closures from July 11 for gas mains work.
From July 7, the speed limit on Bronze Age Way will drop from 50mph to 30mph between the Picardy Manorway roundabout and the Lower Road exit.
Gwillim Close will be closed in full while new gas mains are installed, with work expected to take around four weeks.
Ruxley Roundabout will close in all directions for four days from July 9 while the council carries out improvement works.
Gas mains work will also affect Bursdon Close from July 11, with the whole road closed during off-peak hours.
