ALONE is seeking volunteers in Dromahair and across Leitrim to support older people experiencing loneliness and isolation. The organization recruits, trains, and supports volunteers for two services. Visitation and Befriending Service Volunteers give one hour per week to provide companionship and friendship to an older person. Telephone Support and Befriending Service Volunteers make friendly weekly calls during a one-hour shift. Older people in Dromahair and throughout Leitrim are currently waiting for both services. ALONE also provides a national support and referral line available seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
