"Users can go to the Google Meet home screen in the mobile app or on desktop and select 'take notes for me' to start recording."

Gemini, Google's AI meeting notetaker, has expanded its capabilities beyond Google Meets to include in-person meetings and other platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Previously available only to alpha users on Android, the feature allows users to record meetings without being physically present. Users can initiate note-taking by selecting 'take notes for me' on the Google Meet home screen, and Gemini will generate a summary and action items in a Google Doc stored in Google Drive.
