Hello Games will launch the Beacon update for No Man's Sky alongside its release on Switch 2. This update enriches player involvement in planetary settlements, allowing them to become Overseers managing towns inhabited by sentient robots called Autophage. Players will face challenges related to governance and defense against newly upgraded Sentinel threats while also enjoying peaceful activities like fishing and resource production. The update includes enhanced vocalizations for characters and additional customization options, furthering the depth of player interaction with their settlements.
The next update, Beacon, expands players' abilities as Overseers of settlements, featuring sentient robots named Autophage and various new gameplay mechanics.
Players can control the fate of up to four planetary settlements as Overseers, managing governance and facing threats from Sentinels and the insect queen.
